In an automated production line, product materials are like a car driving in the dark night. The presence or absence detection of this car affects the stability of the entire production line to a great extent.
From this perspective, let's talk about several common presence or absence detection methods.
1. Proximity switch
Without street lights, car lights, or flashlights, how can we determine whether a car is coming in front?
Yes, we can lie on the ground and feel the sound or vibration from the road. When the car is approaching, shout "He's coming". This is the proximity switch! A stable and anti-interference detection method.
However, whether it is an inductive or capacitive proximity switch, it cannot provide long-distance detection, and the detection accuracy is not too high, so this type of detection is mostly used in non-detailed detection occasions such as limit, counting, and positioning control.
2. Photoelectric switch
If the proximity switch is to lie on the ground to feel, the photoelectric switch is to hold a flashlight to illuminate.
Using the photoelectric effect, light is emitted through the transmitter. When the light shines on the receiver, an electrical signal is generated, thereby realizing the detection of materials.
Although photoelectric switches are also a non-detail detection method, the detection distance can be farther and the detected object features can be smaller. When the installation space is limited and the accuracy requirement is high, it is more appropriate to use photoelectric switches.
Of course, photoelectric switches are easily triggered by light interference, and the detection distance will also change due to the color of the object. The distance of white objects is farther and the distance of black objects is closer.
Except for near-infrared photoelectric switches, other photoelectrics have extremely weak detection capabilities for transparent objects.
