The earliest companies in China to introduce automation are like the heroes in novels who have achieved success and fame. They have the strength and courage to seize the dividends of automation and eventually reach the top of the martial arts world.
As the times and technologies are developing, "new waves" are constantly emerging. If old companies want to seize emerging markets, they must either introduce new production lines or make changes to old automated lines (hereinafter referred to as old lines).
However, an entire automated line is linked together. If the fault tolerance space is not enough, any small change can easily cause a huge butterfly effect. Old lines are generally old, and many data may not be complete. The consequence of random changes may be that the entire production line is scrapped.
So in most cases, don't change it if it can run, or even change it in vain.
The reason for this phenomenon is actually not difficult to understand. Limited by the times and concepts, most of the old lines introduced are dedicated line models, which are more in line with the production needs of the year. If the possibility of upgrading the production line is not considered in the early stage, the subsequent transformation will be very difficult.
Another point is that "old line transformation" is not "building a new line". It generally refers to the transformation on the original basis. It needs to match the rhythm and workstations of the old line. There are many restrictions and risks. This is the reason why many automation manufacturers are reluctant to take transformation projects. If you really want to change, ask the company that makes this old line first.
The transformation of old lines is complicated. Most of the transformations are not as good as redoing them, but there are also relatively safe situations, that is, loading transformation:
One is to replace the original manual semi-automatic transformation. For example, we have done it before, that is, to use flexible loading equipment to load the magazine loading device. It sounds like nesting dolls, and it is indeed "nesting dolls".
This old line was originally loaded with magazines, which required manual loading one by one. Now it is directly replaced by flexible loading to achieve fully automated production.
